In 2005, we ventured up into the hill-tribes of Northern Vietnam. This was an area my father took Nick & Maggie DeWolf from Aspen some decades before as the first western visitors since the 50s. By the time I was able to make it there, big construction equipment was filling fertile valleys around Sa Pa. A changing landscape. At a scale of 5″x8″, this set of portrait drawings were created with pencil on the streets of the burgeoning city.
